3D Artist Intern

From September 2020, we are looking for highly motivated and creative individuals to join us. As a 3D artist intern you will report to our art director or project lead. You will be guided in creating a great variety of challenging 3D models. You will be embedded in our Art Team at our Utrecht office and work alongside other employees on various projects.

Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Create 3D assets following reference and/or concept designs;
  • Collaborate with other 3D artists, designers and animators to deliver your assets in the best way possible;
  • Create 3D sculpts in Zbrush;
  • Create textures using texture baking techniques following the PBR workflow;
  • Implement your assets into Unity;
  • Help build a great variety of environments and complex characters in a collaborative effort.

Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of 3D modeling in Maya, 3dsMax or similar;
  • Experience with 3D sculpting in Zbrush;
  • Understanding of efficient use of UV and textures;
  • Experience creating convincing texture maps in Photoshop and/or Substance Painter;
  • Understands the basic principles of baking texture maps;
  • Good eye for form, shape and translating these to convincing 3D models;
  • A working knowledge of Unity 3D;
  • An enthusiastic team-player with motivation and good communication skills is expected;
  • A portfolio demonstrating multiple student and personal projects with a focus on 3D modeling;
  • Experience working in a collaborative team;
  • No school assignment that has specific requirements for the projects the student will work on.


Plus:

  • Experience creating shaders;
  • Experience working in procedural non-destructive methods and software;
  • Experience rigging and skinning;
  • Knowledge designing for immersive platforms (VR, AR, MR).
