Unlocking Performance Goals
Learners aid Mara Narvaez by assisting her cofounder, Koko Swiftwater, with developing motivational KPIs for SchoolHouse Heroes. Learners collaborate to create KPIs which align with the organization's strategy, involve employees in the development process, and measure aspects of employee engagement.

Learners are notified when their performance will be scored and can return to the menu before proceeding. Green, yellow and red visual cues indicate the quality of their response.

Lesson description
  • Speak with Nia Okoro about Mara Narvaez - Schoolhouse Heroes' Development Director - and her urgent request for a video conference.
  • In a flurry of urgency, Mara Narvaez explains that she and Koko Swiftwater have been developing motivational KPIs for their organization. Their board is eager for an update on their progress and a high-stakes presentation is rapidily approaching. However, Mara has an emergency and needs to leave town...so she asks you to step in and assist Koko in finalizing the KPIs.
  • You work with Koko to develop motivational KPIs which directly support SchoolHouse Heroes’ goals and strategies. Ensure that each KPI aligns with the organization's mission and promotes employee motivation, focusing on enhancing educational programs, expanding student reach, and building strong relationships with donors and partners.
  • Koko feels the proposed KPIs should include employee input. Speaking with Fei Fei, the Assistant Development Director, you collaborate to develop tailored KPIs to drive employee engagement. Empower Fei Fei to share her thoughts by asking her about her passions, challenges, and opportunities for growth within her role. By the end of the conversation, aim to provide a clear path for progress tracking.
  • Regroup with Koko to discuss insights from the discussions with two employees. Highlighting key factors which influence engagement, you will be able to ideate KPIs which measure employee engagement.
